Allow me to introduce myself, I am Bri – I love Jesus and Starbucks.

I’m a Minister, Prayer Warrior, Entrepreneur, Daughter, Sister, Mother, and a wonderful Wife.

I’m a Connector. I love bringing people together from various backgrounds and bringing them together to achieve a common goal.

It’s one of the reasons I created the I Know a Girl Network. A network of black women who care, create, connect, and celebrate one another as we pursue our best life NOW.

Backstory:

I grew up as a church kid from Palm Beach County…(The Five-Six-One)

I’m a tried and true Florida Girl—moved to Orlando for school and have been here ever since. I’m a proud Alum of the University of Central Florida…Go Knights!

I initially pursed and obtained a Psychology degree. But I really didn’t want to do Psychology.

So I did what most 20-somethings do when they don’t know what they want to do in life.

I went back to school.

I’m pretty tech-savvy so I went back to pursue a degree to major in Information Technology and I’ve been working in the IT field since then. Shout-out to all the Black Women in Tech!

Let’s see what else…Oh yea, my amazing husband.

Well, I originally met Wayne while we were freshmen in college and didn’t really reconnect until our senior year.

At that time we both started attending the same church, Great Faith Church, let’s just say our origin story is rather interesting, lol … I’ll eventually write a blog about it, but the short version is that we got married in 2010 and have 2 beautiful kids, Nolan Carter and London Grace. (The long version is much better ?)

Let’s #NormalizePrayer.

I truly believe that prayer is the launching pad of our faith. It grounds us, it centers us. It gives us perspective, and answers to questions. But is often perceived as a stringent and religious practice, that causes us to not want to do it as often as we should. Let’s change that.

Here’s My Prayer Origin Story.

2016 was a rough year for my family and I. We went from two incomes household to one and to top it off, my husband’s father passed away in the same year.

However, this adversity brought strength. Spiritually, we were getting stronger. I started to take daily walks to get away and talk with God, not focusing on my needs but rather sharing everything that was on my heart.

From there, my prayer relationship became the catalyst for a supernatural turn around and my belief in God became stronger, literally, day by day. I stopped trusting in what I could do and started trusting in what God said He would do for me and my family. And today, that intimacy with God birthed my calling and catapulted me into this prayer warrior lifestyle.

Why follow Me?

Jeremiah 29:11 ERV – “I say this because I know the plans that I have for you.” This message is from the Lord. “I have good plans for you. I don’t plan to hurt you. I plan to give you hope and a good future. Then you will call my name. You will come to me and pray to me, and I will listen to you.”

It’s simple … Having an honest, consistent dialog with God will give you the confidence and assurance needed to trust Him and hear His voice above all else. And this my friends is the CATALYST that changes everything in your life.

Let’s #normalizeprayer together.
